A tranquil watercolor scene of Lion's Head, depicting its limestone faces, obscured in many places by trees. The mid-ground shows the water. In the foreground is a beach of basketball sized rocks, leading to a large boulder that resembles a crooked sofa. Painted in Phthalo Blue and Alizarin Crimson, which mix to make a variety of purple shades.
Lion's Head on Georgian Bay is part of the Niagara Escarpment which runs from Niagara Falls up to the top of Lake Huron. It is a limestone promontory extending out from the east side of the Bruce Peninsula into the Bay.
