• The Tidepoint series of paintings serves as a thoughtful tribute to our family’s oyster business, which has played a significant role in our community’s heritage. Throughout my high school years, I was fortunate to work on the oyster beds in Willapa Bay, where I came to appreciate the calming sounds of the water and the invigorating scent of the ocean air. My experience at our cannery, where I packaged oysters into containers featuring the Tidepoint label, greatly enhanced my understanding of the oyster farming process. This involvement not only fostered a deep respect for our craft but also inspired my artistic pursuits. Each painting in this series reflects the natural beauty of water and the environment, influenced by my experiences in the bay and at the cannery. I encourage viewers to engage with these artworks, as they offer opportunities for personal interpretation and emotional resonance.
