The Tidepoint series of paintings is a tribute to our family’s oyster business, which has been a vital part of our community for many years. During my high school years, I was actively involved in the oyster beds located in Willapa Bay. Each day began with the soothing sounds of water and the invigorating scent of the ocean air. At our cannery, I meticulously packaged oysters into containers that prominently displayed the Tidepoint label. This hands-on experience fostered a deep appreciation for the intricacies of oyster farming and served as a significant source of inspiration for my artistic endeavors. Each painting in this series captures the inherent beauty of water and nature, reflecting the influence of my experiences at both the bay and the cannery.
