• The Tidepoint series of paintings serves as a constructive tribute to our family’s oyster business, a significant contributor to our community’s heritage. During my high school years, I had the opportunity to work on the oyster beds in Willapa Bay, where I gained valuable insights from the calming sounds of water and the refreshing scent of the ocean air. My experience at our cannery, where I carefully packed oysters into containers labeled Tidepoint, further enriched my understanding of the oyster farming process. This practical involvement not only deepened my appreciation for the craft but also sparked my artistic inspiration. Each painting in this series reflects the beauty of water and the natural environment, showcasing the influence of my experiences in both the bay and the cannery.
